Tangany Recap 2023

We are two months into 2024, and, in keeping with tradition, we would like to recap some moments from the past year and take you on a little trip behind the scenes at Tangany. This isn't a recap of last year's market or big industry news, but simply a look back at some of our company's highlights, team events, milestones, and achievements. A picture is worth a thousand words, so we wanted to show you some of the best moments of the past year and take you through them with us.

Being transparent about how we made it through a difficult year is important to us, so we are finishing our Recap with a few numbers on how Tangany performed.

Chapter 1: New look, same Tangany

Last year, we undertook a big challenge in starting a strategic rebranding initiative. Our goal was to refresh our corporate identity with a new logo, colors, and website to reflect the maturing and growth process we have gone through since the founding days in early 2019. The new look aimed to underline our commitment to staying at the forefront of the ever-evolving landscape of digital finance. You can find a more in-depth look at our rebranding here.

Chapter 2: The next generation

The release of API Suite 2.0 marked a pivotal moment for Tangany, laying the foundation for future growth and scaling. With the Tangany Partner Portal, we took further steps towards self-services and providing a one-stop-shop for all Tangany partners.

Marcel stepped up to Chief Product Officer after shaping our product roadmap for over a year as Head of Product & Engineering. With his experience, strong vision, and innate ability to work seamlessly within our team, this decision felt like a natural progression and logical next step for the management team and Tangany.

Chapter 3: A look behind the scenes

Beyond our professional endeavors, we try to foster a culture of camaraderie at Tangany through different team events throughout the year. We have enjoyed great summer events, from a tour of Munich's Olympic Stadium and finishing the evening with drinks and food at a Korean BBQ joint to BBQs on our roof terrace. There has always been an opportunity to unwind after work.

Even snow and cold temperatures in Munich were no obstacles to cozy winter get-togethers. Smoking salmon and making smores next to the fire has all the romanticism of winter one could handle.

Chapter 4: Back to business

In 2023, our team was actively involved in representing our brand at prominent blockchain and finance events across Germany and Europe, from the CAC in Frankfurt to Spark '23 in Mexico and giving lectures at Technische Universität Munich. We spent time showcasing our solutions, engaging with industry leaders, and educating the next generation of blockchain talents.

Chapter 5: Overcoming headwinds

The challenges of a difficult market also affected us for much of the year, and plans made at the beginning of the year had to be revised. Navigating through these tough times, reducing planned spending, and maintaining the size of our team rather than expanding it proved to be the right approach for us.

Bringing on board major partners such as dwpbank, justTrade and eToro showed us that we are on the right track and thanks to the tireless efforts of our team, we ended 2023 on a high note.

• The partnership network expanded, totaling 60 by December.

• Assets under custody surged from 500 million EUR to an impressive 1.3 billion EUR.

• Revenue growth reached 62% year-over-year, in the single-digit million range.

• End-customer growth soared by 385%, to 290k.

A year of growth despite a downtrend in the market.

Overall, we are eager to take on the challenges and opportunities that 2024 will bring, and we are confident that our team and technology will enable us to continue to provide the highest level of service to our clients.
